I found all of these tips in the Rebuild Your Vision program. This is a good taster if you are feeling hesitant about committing to vision training. Alternatively, if you are ready to start straight away, read my article about Rebuild Your Vision.
Vision Tip #1 - Stop Wearing Glasses (or Downgrade)This is key to your success. You must either reduce the time you wear your regular glasses, or step down to a weaker prescription. Here's why... Numerous scientific studies show that wearing corrective lenses makes your vision worse over time. Check out the study below on monkeys.
Right now, you probably wear your glasses all day, every day. This means you never exercise the eyes naturally like people with 20/20 vision do all the time. Promise yourself that you will only wear your glasses when you actually need them. At all other times - take them off. Push yourself to go without glasses while watching TV or doing gardening, as long as you do it safely. If there is a danger to your safety (eg when crossing the road) then you must still wear your glasses. I find that pinhole glasses are a good alternative for indoor activities. If your vision is so bad that you can't imagine doing anything without glasses, revert to an old pair or get a weaker prescription from 39 Dollar Glasses. Vision training specialists recommend weaker increments of 0.25 to 0.50 diopters. You should ignore any astigmatism up to 1.00 diopter, under correcting larger amounts by a third. At first, I found the world very fuzzy with my nearsightedness and astigmatism. But within a few hours, I found my eyesight was actually clearer, especially in the sunlight. The longer you go without glasses, the better your eyesight becomes (up to a point - that's where eye exercises come in). Like the monkeys, your vision is adapting to the circumstances.
Vision Tip #2 - Don't Read with Long Distance GlassesThis does not exercise the eyes but it is important damage control for people with nearsightedness. Reading up-close materials through your long distance glasses creates near-point stress - and this can be a major cause of shortsightedness. It can also make your vision deteriorate even faster. So, while you should only be wearing your glasses when you absolutely need them, be extra cautious of reading or using a computer with them on. If you can't see the computer screen at work, bring yourself closer to the monitor. And if that makes you hunch, then sit up straight and increase the size of the fonts by holding down Control and rolling your mouse wheel forward. If you still can't see, get weaker prescription glasses which give you 20/40 acuity at 20 inches. If you ignore this tip, it will be so much harder to improve your vision naturally with eye exercises, because you will be undoing all your hard work each day.
Vision Tip #3 - Wear an Eye PatchThis is a great way for anyone to exercise the eyes without even thinking about it. Buy a cheap eye patch from your local drugstore and wear it for one hour a day for reading, watching TV or playing. (Hint: don't wear it for driving, cooking, walking down the street, or any other potentially hazardous activity.) Wearing an eye patch can help improve your vision in your weaker eye as it forces each eye to work at its optimum strength. So if one eye is stronger, cover it up more. If you do the Rebuild Your Vision program, your eye patch will be included as part of the vision training tools and charts.
Vision Tip #4 - Exercise The EyesBecoming less dependent on your usual glasses or contact lenses is the first part of the equation. This will form the foundation of your vision training, giving your eyes all the freedom they need to adjust themselves naturally. The second part of the equation is based on eye exercises. They will test the full range of your eyesight on a daily basis for 30 days, giving them the opportunity to focus on near and far objects, coordinate together and relax properly at the end. Rebuild Your Vision gives you a 30-day schedule of eye exercises designed to correct refractive errors of the eye. It also explains more ways to relax your eyes after your daily session and at times of near-point stress. Together, these will form a complete training routine which can dramatically improve your vision.
Do Eye Exercises Really Work?As featured in Men's Health Magazine, Feb 2003 How to Begin Eye ExercisesYou can start to exercise the eyes in the next few minutes by downloading the Rebuild Your Vision program for free. This program has one of the best success rates - some 94% of customers keep the course, which promises to deliver a dramatic improvement in your natural vision or your money back. What's more, I reviewed several other well-known programs to make this website and Rebuild Your Vision was the easiest to follow and had the most impact on me. I highly recommend it if you are committed to rebuilding your 20/20 vision.
